Boundaries reflection
Clarify what you need and how to express it.
A boundary communicates what is and is not workable for you. It guides your own response; it does not control another person.
1. What happened?
Describe the facts without interpreting motives.
2. What did I notice?
Feelings, body signals, resentment, pressure or discomfort.
3. What do I need?
Time, privacy, respect, clarity, safety, space or support?
4. What makes this difficult?
Fear, guilt, habit, power differences or uncertainty.
5. My boundary statement
“When ___ happens, I need ___. If it continues, I will ___.”
6. Follow-through
What action is within my control? What support may I need?
Aim for clear, calm and specific language. Safety comes first; do not use direct confrontation where doing so may put you at risk.
